Actress Sandra Bullock experienced a bit of a scare Sunday morning when a man attempted to break into her house at around 6:30 am.

The 39-year-old male is believed to be a 'hot prowler' - a burglar who strikes while residents are at home - and was in Bullock's yard assessing the house when police arrived on the scene.

Luckily, Sandra was unharmed and the man was taken into police custody. It remains unclear whether he was indeed trying to rob the "Gravity" star's home or was simply stalking her.

Only hours before, Bullock was presented with a 'Decade of Hotness' award at Spike TV's Guy's Choice Awards by three of her most famous leading men, Matthew McConaughey, Keanu Reeves and Hugh Grant.

Dressed in a strapless pink mini-dress, the famous actress showed off her toned, svelte figure, making it hard to believe that she will be turning 50 next month.

After the awards show, Bullock joined former co-star Hugh Grant for dinner at Craig's Restaurant in West Hollywood before heading home for the night.

It was unclear whether or not the "Miss Congeniality" star was home alone at the time of the incident or if her four-year-old son Louis was also with her.

Sandra adopted Louis from New Orleans in 2010.

This is only one in a string of recent celebrity robberies. Recently, "Wrecking Ball" singer Miley Cyrus hit headlines after her Los Angeles home was robbed last month and thieves made off with thousands of dollars' worth of jewelry as well as the entertainer's brand new Maserati.

Cyrus' sports-car was later recovered and, although the jewelry is still missing, police have managed to apprehend two individuals suspected of carrying out the crime.

The young star was luckily overseas for her Bangerz tour at the time of the robbery and escaped the type of fright Ms. Bullock undoubtedly went through by experiencing an attempted robbery while at home.
