The cutest army to ever assail Hong Kong's shores set their paws on the island today.

The Pandas were made by French artist Paulo Grangeon who crafted the pandas from recycled materials. The pandas will be exhibited at 14 landmarks around Hong Kong from today until July 17.

"Panda-monium" or "Panda-mania" will later invade Kowloon and the New Territories. They will also be seen at the giant Tian Tan Buddha; at Tsing Ma Bridge; at Tsim Sha Tsui's Avenue of the Stars; at the Sha Tin Racecourse; Victoria Park and the Hong Kong Coliseum before ending at PMQ on Aberdeen Street in Central.

Judging from the heart-warming reactions from people at HKIA, "Panda-monium" is more than welcome in Hong Kong.

The 1,600 pandas have visited France, the Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and Taiwan.
They have also been part of nearly 100 exhibitions.

There are only some 1,600 pandas known to exist worldwide and each of the 1,600 papier-mâché pandas is meant to represent each of these living creatures. Pandas are native to south central China, mainly in Sichuan province but also in the Shaanxi and Gansu provinces.

Take a selfie of yourself with these cute pandas or photos of the creatures with you and your mates and post them at #butterboomhk.
