Sony PlayStation 3 and 4 are impressive gaming consoles. One of the things both lack is a superb media streaming capability.

With a lot of gamers owning one or both of these units, it's to be expected the entertainment giant would have to give in to the requests, or more like demands, of consumers.

Plex, Inc., a company that offers streaming apps, said they're now media streaming for both the PS3 and PS4. With this, PS3 and PS4 owners no longer have to settle for the two current options in the form of DLNA and a built-in browser.

There's one problem though. The Plex app isn't going to be available to the U.S. as of now. The only countries where gamers can enjoy media streaming via their Sony gaming platforms are Asia, Africa, Europe, and Oceania.

In the hopes of appeasing U.S. gamers, Plex has written a blog post explaining the process involved in porting for the two Sony gaming consoles. A definite reason why the U.S. isn't included hasn't been adequately explained by the company though.

Plex did say something about gamers living in both North and South America getting access to it sometime next year. In a way, this statement is a confirmation the Plex app will be making its way to the USA.

PS 4 Daily said the user interface of the Plex app looks a bit the same as other versions compatible with other devices.

If you're interested in using the app, you need to spend some money on it. There are corresponding monthly ($5), yearly ($40), and lifetime ($150) charges for getting the Plex Pass.
