The actor posted US$10,000 bail before appearing at the Ozaukee County Circuit Court for his hearing.
Diamond is facing criminal charges after allegedly stabbing a man at a Port Washing Bar, as well as disorderly conduct and carrying a concealed weapon after he confessed that he was actually carrying a knife during an altercation at the Grand Avenue Salon on Christmas Day.
Diamond's attorney, Thomas Alberti, asked that the bail be reduced given that the actor has no prior criminal records and that the action was done out of self-defense. Alberti also requested that the actor face a jury trial.
"Dustin has complete faith in the justice system," Alberti said outside the courtroom.
Alberti also said that the actor was upset because he "missed the Packers game" while in jail," althbough he "made the best of his time here. He got caught up on some books."
According to the complaint, Diamond and his fiancee came into brawl with two men and a woman at the Grand Avenue Saloon in Port Washington, where Diamond is a local, Thursday night.
Diamond admitted to the police that he accidentally stabbed one of the men in defense to his girlfriend, although no serious injury was inflicted upon the man.
Diamond's next court hearing is slated Jan. 5.
