In yet another round of gun-related violence to hit the US this week, two people died and one was injured when a lone gunman walked into the Reynolds High School campus in Oregon and opened fire at students Tuesday morning.
Once SWAT teams descended upon the scene, they discovered the perpetrator slumped on a toilet in one of the school's restrooms. Officials believe the young man killed himself but have not confirmed this nor the identity of the shooter.

Eyewitnesses told police that they heard as many as six shots going off in the school. The campus, which has a student body of around 2,800, was put on immediate lockdown and tactical units arrived shortly after the 8 a.m. shooting to begin searching the area.
One student was reported dead from a gunshot wound and one teacher was treated on the scene for non-life-threatening injuries. No other casualties have been reported.
Located just 16 miles outside of Portland, Reynolds High School is the third U.S. campus to experience a public shooting in the last three weeks.
Last week, a shooter opened fire at Seattle Pacific University, killing one and injuring three others, and late last month a student at the Santa Barbara University of California campus went on a shooting rampage in which six people died.
Public shootings are becoming alarmingly more common in the US and haven't been limited to school campuses. This week, a Las Vegas couple walked into a pizza restaurant and shot two police officers before fleeing to a local Wal-Mart, shooting a civilian, and then killing themselves.
In 2013 alone, 23 mass shootings have taken place in the US, leaving more than 100 people dead across 17 states. In an attempt to curtail gun violence and prevent more school shootings, many education centers across the country have installed metal detectors and more extensive security.
With the numbers for public shootings in 2014 rising at a startlingly steady pace, experts are also scrambling to try to unravel the dark nature of a culture which some claim encourage these types of shootings, such as extensive media coverage that makes crime perpetrators famous.
Tuesday's shooting at Reynolds High School is the 74th gun-related violence committed inside an American campus since the December 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut that killed scores of young school children.
