Boxing great Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao and congressman of Sarangani province in the Philippines, has added another title to his credit being named the head coach of Team KIA, a new expansion team in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

It was originally reported that Pacman will serve as playing-coach but Manny said that for now he is the head coach and that he still doesn't know if he's going to play at the professional league.

Pacquiao is no stranger when it comes to sports. He also plays billiards which Filipino billiard champions such as Efren "Bata" Reyes and Francisco "Django" Bustamante both agreed that he has the skills.

If ever Pacquiao decides to play in the PBA, he has to undergo like every rookie in the league; wherein, he has to enter the draft.

August 24 is the scheduled deadline of rookie applicants. "A month before August 24, the list for applicant rookies should be in, and let's all find out if the name Manny Pacquiao is on the list during that time," PBA Commissioner Chito Salud said.

Manny said that he wanted a versatile team and had already selected some players in some of his tryouts, although the team is still to be completed.

Pacman's training will be a combination of boxing and basketball. He said that when he was training before his fight against Brandon Rios and Timothy Bradley in one week, he has a day of basketball. So you can definitely mix the training of boxing and basketball, "especially in plyometrics," Pacquiao said.

The PBA has a three-conference format wherein the season starts with the Philippine Cup, also known as the traditional All-Filipino Conference, the Commissioner's Cup and the Governor's Cup. The 40^th season of the PBA will start sometime in November wherein the first activity will be the PBA draft.
