It's all fun, games and partying...until one of them commits a faux pas and angers an important religious sect in a place specifically designed for religious worship; which is exactly what happened to Selena Gomez, who was off partying in the UAE with friends Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Cody, Simpson, Shay Mitchell and numerous other friends.

The group, who took a tour of the Sheik Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, posed for several photos where the celebs and a number of their crew were seen laughing and smiling, which was dubbed "disrespectful," by mosque leaders and other visitors.
Gomez however, seemed to anger the community the most, after she showed "way too much skin" after she posed provocatively and gave everyone a peek of her ankles in the group photo. Perhaps what earned the most ire was a photo of the star purposely lifting her abaya to show her ankles in a place for religious worship.
After the actress posted the contentious image on Instagram, Gomez promptly took it down after comments of disrespect and news of complaints regarding her behavior at the Abu Dhabi mosque circulated.
This isn't the first time a celebrity has gotten in trouble with the mosque. A little while back, musician Rihanna, who posted an image of herself posing provocatively with the mosque in the backdrop earned the disapproval of the same group. After her photograph was posted, the star was asked to leave the premises. Evidently, the mosque leaders seem to have gone easier on Gomez and friends.
