Hot off her global tour to promote her most recent film Maleficent, Angelina Jolie seems to have no plans of taking a break and instead headed to London this week to co-host the 2014 Global Summit to End Sexual Violence.
Alongside British Foreign Secretary William Hague, the actress and UN special envoy opened the four-day summit stating that those responsible for sexual violence during conflict must be brought to justice.

Mr. Hague responded in kind, saying that rape is one of the "great mass crimes" of our modern times and calling on over 140 nations represented at the summit to include action against sexual violence into army training.
The event is the largest of its kind and the result of a campaign which has run for over two years in an attempt to gain traction and raise awareness about the issue.
The aims of the summit include launching new international protocol for documenting and investigating sexual violence, urging countries to train soldiers and peacekeepers on how to prevent sexual violence, increase funding and support for survivors of sexual violence, and changing attitudes towards rape in conflict.
Mr. Hague noted that sexual violence has been used as a weapon of war on a large scale in the 20th and 21st Centuries. The foreign secretary further said that an estimated 50,000 women were raped in Bosnia two decades ago and virtually none received justice for the crimes committed against them.
A little star power certainly went a long way towards drawing attention to the summit as well and Ms. Jolie brought her own personal experiences with victims of sexual violence into her opening remarks.
The activist dedicated the summit to a rape victim she interviewed in Bosnia saying:
"She felt that having had no justice for her particular crime, in her particular situation, and having seen the actual man who raped her on the streets free, she really felt abandoned by the world,'' Ms Jolie said. "This day is for her.''
A Declaration of Commitment to End Sexual Violence in Conflict has been endorsed by 141 countries ever since Mr. Hague and Ms. Jolie first began their campaign two years ago. The summit means to force leaders to take more concrete steps towards preventing future sexual violence as well as providing help to survivors of such assaults.
