If you are one of the millions and millions of individuals who love travelling, then you probably are relying on the World Wide Web and the Internet in general for most of your trips. With airlines, hotels, attractions, and restaurants offering many of their services via the Internet, travelling has indeed become even more enjoyable and convenient.

With all these being pointed out, there is no longer a need to wonder why the travel-related mobile industry has grown so fast in the past years. In fact, according to Telegraph, many online services, such as those offered by Skyscanner, has become so in-demand that the company's flight searches have increased by more than 150 percent. So now that we are already in the year 2015, here are some of the things you definitely would want to know regarding how technology will impact your travels and itineraries this year.
Possibility of the Roaming Regime to Come to an End for Some Countries
If you have used the same mobile carrier or network that you use in your home country while travelling, you know how expensive roaming charges are. While Telegraph predicts that this particular service will still be a huge challenge to travelers, it has also mentioned a new rule, which has been set by the European Parliament. The Parliament has voted that roaming charges be eliminated come December of this year. Hopefully, more countries will follow in its footsteps to put a stop (or even just a decrease in) to expensive roaming.
More and Much Improved Smartwear
According to Memphis Daily News, we can also expect wearable technology to become a major part of the travel industry. There are several reasons for this, one of the major being that such devices will help travelers stay connected. Notifications and bookings will also be two of the other aspects of travelling that such equipment will impact. Google Glass, Apple Watch, and Sony SmartWatch are three of the smartwear devices to look out for this year.
