If you take the time to search about the best colleges and universities in the United States, you would almost always see the name of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology being mentioned as one. There is no need to doubt the fame of the educational institution, as it really does provide students with top notch quality education. And to prove this once again, the Times Magazine has published a list of the best technology inventions, with some of them having their roots in the said school.

WiTricity
One of the technological innovations that made it to the list of the Times Magazine is Witricity. The Chief Executive of the company, Alex Gruzen '84, SM '86, says that, with this kind of wireless electricity technology, consumers would soon no longer have to be troubled by and burdened with having to always deal with messy cables and multiple power strips.
The company itself was founded by MIT researchers. Marin Soljačić '96, a Professor of Physics, Peter Fisher, the head of the physics department, and John Joannopoulos, the Francis Wright Davis Professor of Physics are the founders of Witricity.
The Copenhagen Wheel
According to MIT, the Copenhagen Wheel is definitely something that bikers will really love. It is basically a red disc that can be attached to the rear wheel so that it can be transformed into a hybrid. Those who want to increase their pedal power will really like this device. Superpedestrian Inc. is the company responsible for its creation. The company says that the Copenhagen Wheel will be able to help improve the lives of those who live in the cities, as it will allow them to enjoy "more seamless mobility."
PillPack
Another one on the list is PillPack, a pharmaceutical service co-founded by MIT graduate Elliot Cohen MBA '13. It is specifically designed for individuals who take more than just a single kind of medication on a daily basis.
