Sony wants to make it up for those PlayStation 4 users who experienced network outages during the holidays.
Sony Computer Entertainment in the U.S. will offer ten percent discount on PlayStation Store purchases. It includes TV shows and movies, and games. It's way of thanking the gamers for their patience during the Christmas downtime that blighted its online networks.

Additionally, PlayStation Plus members who had an active membership or free trial on Dec. 25 will get an extension of five days for their membership, Eric Lempel of Sony Network Entertainment wrote in a blog post.
This Sony's offer received positive thoughts from PlayStation Network (PSN) users; however, not all of them are contented.
“What I would like, more than anything else, is an explanation from Sony about how and why this will never happen again. Use the money to strengthen and diversify the network infrastructure so these types of attacks become harder to make and easier to recover from,” wrote one user.
Sony's PlayStation network was thrust into the darkness by its long-time nemesis, the Lizard Squad hacking group. The firm acknowledges the downtime, apologizes, and makes an effort at making up. The DDoS attacks, which also took down Microsoft’s Xbox Live game network, were apparently launched by hacker group Lizard Squad, which later took aim at anonymous network Tor.
At least one alleged member of that group, a chap called Vinnie Omari according to online reports, has been arrested in the U.K.
