The Kentucky Police had located the crash site of a Piper PA-34 jet that was flying over Marshall County until it lost contact at 6:55 p.m. on Sunday night. While they confirmed the death of four people, including the pilot and passengers, a 7-year-old girl has miraculously survived the plane mishap.

Thirty minutes after, a resident of Lyon County called the police to inform them that a 7-year-old girl walked to his house and informed him of the plane crash. Since the child was distressed, she was brought to a local hospital where her injuries, which were non-life threatening, were treated.
"This girl came out of the wreckage herself and found the closest residence and reported the plane crash," The Telegraph quotes Sgt. Dean Patterson of the Kentucky State Police. He added, "It's a miracle in a sense that she survived it, but it's tragic that four others didn't."
Federal Aviation Administration Communications Manager Kathleen Bergen told CNN Wire service that the agency lost contact shortly after the pilot informed them of engine problems and his plan to divert the aircraft to the Kentucky Dam State Airport. The distress call of the pilot was received by the FAA Memphis Center.
The plane, which left Florida for an unknown destination, crashed instead in a heavily wooded area 115 miles northwest of Nashville, which rescue crew eventually located after two hours, reports St. Catharine's Standard. The crash site is a popular tourist destination in Kentucky.
The identities of the pilot and passengers are still unknown. Patterson said it is still unknown what the relationship of the young survivor is to the passengers.
An investigation on the cause of the accident is ongoing.
