World Cup 2014: Official FIFA World Cup App Now Available for Free Download

Fans can now monitor the happenings in the World Cup 2014 wherever they go because the official FIFA World Cup app is now available to be downloaded for free.

Initially launched in December 2013, the app now includes exclusive coverage of the World Cup which will be held in Brazil. The app has been fully updated and is now ready for the opening game of the world's biggest event, according to FIFA.com.

The official Brazil 2014 app features live coverage of all the 84 games, allowing fans to stay connected with the most recent news, videos, photos, and real-time voting for the Man of the Match. Users can also get the chance to win the official kick-off ball from the events.

The app will serve as a virtual gateway for smartphone users to be part of FIFA's Global Stadium, which is its online social and mobile hub for the World Cup, using the hashtag #joinin. Fans will also be able to socialize with friends, players, celebrities, coaches, and other fans worldwide from the app's social media feed. In addition, the app's users could also be seen in the Global Stadium when they add #WorldCup to their online posts.

The FIFA World Cup app allows fans to monitor all the stats in the tournament, as well as the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking and 197 world leagues. Moreover, they can use it to know about FIFA's worldwide projects and its efforts to develop the game.

The report cited FIFA Head of Digital Matt Stone describing the app as fans' "virtual ticket to the global station." He also said it is the best way to be part of the biggest discussions in the world and is the "perfect companion" for fans watching TV as well as those who are mobile.

World Cup 2014 fans can join the FIFA.com Club for free to get constant updates on live scores, video highlights, exclusive interview, historical stats, and even behind-the-scenes access. The said club is a meeting hub for football fans all over the world.
