It hasn't exactly been smooth sailing for Singaporean musician JJ Lin.
He first ushers in the New Year with an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction while performing for a countdown party in front of hundreds. And following that, Lin apparently gets punched during an autograph signing session for his latest album.

The 6 foot 2 man walked up to Lin posing as an unassuming fan seeking to get his autograph. The move of course shocked Lin that he instinctively laid his face on the table and sought to protect his head with his hands.
Authorities and Lin's crew immediately intervened. The crew swooped in to subdue the man and ensure that he was taken away by the police.
Lin's attacker was allegedly heard shouting, "I wish you happy new year, JJ Lin!"
Meanwhile, Lin was sent to the hospital to have his injuries checked out prior to going to the police station to file an official police report regarding the incident.
The attacker has been identified as Chen Yanheng, an underground rap singer who, judging by his recent antics, may have pulled this as a stunt to get attention. While being forcibly escorted away from Lin, he apparently continued to shout to Lin's audience, asking them why they choose to support foreign music and not local music.
He also reportedly boasted about being a better singer than JJ, complaining to arresting officers as to why, despite being better than the famous singer, he can't cut a break.
Lin assures fans that he is alright after the incident:
"I am fine. I just suffered a bruise on my left ear and it was a little swollen. I do not know the person who hit me."
