Musician Ben Haggerty, better known as Macklemore, is expecting his first child with fiancée Tricia Davis. The couple decided to share the good news with fans after rumors about the pregnancy started online. 

"We wanted to share the news with you ourselves. Love Ben and Tricia" Macklemore posted on his Twitter page, the tweet came with a link to a youtube video posted by his musical partner Ryan Lewis.

The video opens with the message from the couple "Today the media had speculations about a big change in our lives, so we decided to share it with you ourselves." The video then shows the couple during a series of ultrasound sessions wherein they first hear their child's heartbeat and we can clearly see that they could not wipe the smiles off their faces. Macklemore's mother also appears in the video and in the end they reveal that the baby is due in May 2015. 

The 31-year old singer proposed to Davis last year after dating for seven years. He cites Davis as the reason for his success, it was revealed in the early part of his career that the singer suffered from drug addiction and he says that she is one of the reasons why he decided to become sober.

In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Macklemore said that his fiancée has been with him and his musical team since the very beginning "She was there with me when we were printing 20 shirts for an audience of 15. She has been with me every step of the way and has supported me and my music ever since."

No announcement has been made as to whether or not the couple will marry after the baby is born.

Macklemore's new album is expected to be released some time this year.
