A naval patrol vessel might have already located a section of the crashed AirAsia flight, where the black box voice and the flight data recorders are situated, according to reports by Indonesian officials.

"We found what has a high probability of being the tail of the plane," said Yayan Soyfan, captain of the patrol vessel.

The plane's tail was reportedly found on the same day that Indonesia suspended numerous aviation officials amid the revelation that the AirAsia Flight 8501 did not have the permission to fly on December 28 when it went down due to a storm at the Java Sea.

It has been nine days now since the searches have started. On Monday, search-and-recovery teams were able to cover more parts of the sea as it was calmer as opposed to the past days they have been carrying out the operations.

Around 37 bodies have already been recovered since Monday but only 13 bodies have been identified as of now. According to the officials investigating the case, the underwater current is too strong, causing them to widen the search area as debris of the plane might have spread to a farther distance.

There were 162 people who were onboard the said plane that was enroute from Indonesia to Singapore.

According to Bambang Soelistyo, the head of the National Search and Rescue Agency, they could still not confirm if what they found is indeed the tail end of the crashed AirAsia jet. He added that there have been five vessels deployed to find the signal of the black box but so far, not any of the teams have succeeded yet.
