Vessyl: A Smart Cup Which Might Change the Entire Weight Loss Scenario

After seven years of research and development, Justin Lee, co-founder and CEO of Mark One, has developed a unique drinking cup which can not only calculate the amount of liquid contained, but also the number of calories in it.
Most people try losing weight by avoiding high-calorie foods, unaware of the fact that more often than not, the amount of liquid in the body can actualy account for much of their weight. Taking this issue seriously, Lee came up with a smart drinking cup which would help consumers monitor their liquid intake, thereby providing help in losing weight.

"I wanted to put a computer into one of the most ubiquitous objects in the history of the human race," says Lee, who was a biomedical computing student at Queen's University seven years ago.
Vessyl is a 13-ounce cup that is capable of recognizing any kind of beverage or drink poured into it. Not only does it display the nutritional value of the drink; it can also sync the drinking habits with the smartphone of the consumer. The sensitivity of the cup is very high, and it can even tell an orange soda from orange juice.
With the number of overweight people twofold today compared to the 80's, obesity has become a chief health disorder. And a smart device like Vessyl may prove to be a useful aid to people working toward losing weight.
