Welcome the Belfie Stick, a selfie stick for taking butt selfies. The guys that came up with this "butt-cessory" are the creators of ON.com, a social networking site for selfie lovers.

The butt selfie that trended in the past year was popularized by selfie-natic Kim Kardashian. In fact, she coined the term "belfie" while writing a caption for her backside photo on Instagram.

The pose, which focused on her butt, was copied by other Hollywood celebrities and soon became a trend in social media.

"Our users are our biggest indicator of selfie trends," said chief technology officer at ON.com, Kevin Deegan in an interview with Business Insider.

Deegan added that butt selfie posts increased in recent months. This prompted ON.com to craft the specialized selfie stick to cater to rising demand.

Initially, the team surveyed more than 10,000 selfie lovers to assess potential users. The results revealed that many liked taking photos of their backside when they consider it an asset.

In addition, those who take butt selfies have difficulty handling their smart phones and selfie sticks to capture their backsides at a good angle. These gadgets usually require a mirror for assistance.

Thus, Deegan's team put together a strategically bendable stick. The Belfie Stick can capture a backside at angles a smartphone or other handheld cameras can't, Deegan said.

You only need to bend the Belfie Stick to the angle you prefer for your butt selfie and shoot.

The Belfie Stick (and most selfie sticks) is made of titanium and costs US$79.99. A regular selfie stick costs US$15.

Those willing to pay the hefty amount for better butt selfies will have to pre-order as the butt-cessory is currently out of stock.
