Stinking Problem: Chinese Families Shocked By Feces Attack

Chinese families in Sipo Village in Zhengzhou City said suspected local demolition groups attacked them with feces to force them out of their homes.

According to one woman whose house was attacked on December 21, 2014, a group of over 30 men broke into the house at night and they used hammers and sticks to get inside. They also brought with them dozens of buckets of feces.

The attackers smashed the windows of their home, threatened the woman's family and demanded that they should move out as soon as possible.

The men allegedly emptied the buckets of feces and threw them all over the house, covering the floor, the kitchen and the beds with the waste. The woman reportedly tried to stop them from littering in her house but one of the attackers then covered her in manure.

The men allegedly came back the following day with more of the stinky stuff.

According to other reports, several more home owners in the village experienced the same kind of attack. It is not yet sure what the motive behind the attack is but the local demolition department is suspected to be behind it as they want to use the village to put up new buildings.

The local reconstruction project headquarters, however, has denied the allegations. The local public security is now investigating the said attacks.

The news has reached Weibo, a China-based online platform likened to Twitter, and it is trending as of today. The post has already garnered more than seven million views.

Other reports are saying that the Sipo village is the target of the government to be redeveloped. It is part of the "Urban Village Reconstruction Projects" that aims to clear rundown neighborhoods as the officials point out there are security and sanitation concerns.

The residents who are part of the project are being paid if they are asked to move but most of them think that the payment being offered is not enough.
