The celebrity row at Madison Square Garden was occupied by five 18-year old fans with paper bags on their heads. They said it was a protest to the New York Knicks' terrible season so far. That night, the Knicks fell to the Houston Rockets 120-96.

These fans sat just feet away from the Rockets bench along the baseline in a nationally televised game.

Apart from the fans letting their team know how they feel, the Knicks also extended their franchise record single-season losing streak to 14 games and lost for the 24^th time in 25 games.

The Knicks' performance is so bad that fans now don't want to be recognized at the Garden.

"We're doing this because the Knicks are the worst team," one of the bag men, who identified himself as 18-year-old James Martucci of West Nyack, told the Daily News during the second half, before the Knicks fell to a league-worst 5-34.

"It's not fair what they're doing. They're terrible. And Carmelo (Anthony) should be playing. Why isn't he playing?"

While the disappointment of the fans was apparent, the Knicks offered nothing to counter their views. In the game, they fell behind by as many as 14 points in the first half, 27 in the third quarter, and 28 in the fourth.

Their superstars - Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire - took some time off again to heal their injuries, with the former being out for a fifth straight game and the latter for his eighth.

Meanwhile, Knicks first-year coach Derek fisher was caught by TNT cameras trying to motivate his team by telling them to relax as it is only basketball.

"The rules of the game are the same, the basket is the same height, they put their shorts on the same way you put yours on," Fisher was quoted as saying. "Doesn't matter who it is over there - believe in who you are. You can play the game."

However, the words did not seem to get to the players, as they played bad the whole night.
