Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA) won the third prize of the “Best Airport” in Asia-pacific region in 2012

From June 10 to Jun 12, the Airports Council International (ACI) Annual Conference of 2013 and the Annual Service Quality (ASQ) Awards Ceremony of 2012 were held in Istanbul, Turkey. All senior leaders and representatives of the airports from all over the world have attended this event. The vice general manager of Beijing Capital International Airport Liu ZengYu, and other leaders, as well as the representatives of the Passenger Service Promotion Committee of BCIA had attended the meeting.

In 2012, because of the excellent service quality, BCIA won the third prize on passenger satisfaction in "Asia Pacific's Best Airport". BCIA won the second prize again in the World's Best Airport among all airports which have over 40 million passenger throughputs. Since 2012, ACI has cancelled the global awards appraisal. Airports which have won the "Best Airports" in the Asia-pacific region are South Korea's Incheon airport, Singapore's Changi airport, Beijing Capital International Airport, India's New Delhi airport, and Hong Kong airport; The top three "Best Airport" in those which have over 40 million passenger throughputs are Singapore's Changi airport, Beijing Capital International Airport and Hong Kong airport.
In 2012, BCIA has always been committed to continuously enhance the level of service management and focus on the problems on service. It has held service seminars, brainstorming meetings for many times. Through the services supervision and the activities, they have involved the staff to experience the cultural, continuous discover the problems in service, and make the improvement. A total overhaul service issues which have been solved are 208 in this year, also the problems on service have been reduced from 11 at the beginning of the year to 3 items, especially, it has made a breakthrough progress on food and beverage, parking, retail and other three valuable indicators. At the same time, in order to promote the overall service quality of all the employees, BCIA has been spreading Chinese service and the idea of culture widely on various aspects. It also has finished a 150,000-word teaching material on "airport service business knowledge", and carried out full grass-roots level service training.
In addition, the BCIA has much more influence. In 2012 it has set up a large airport service exchange and coorporation platform, which includes the participation of several large-scale airports including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong airports. It has signed a cooperation contract, and has exchanged the experience on service management to improve service management level. Also, the "Civil Airport Transportation Service Quality" which was made independently, has successfully upgraded to a standard in the field.
The airports council international (ACI) is currently the world's most influential group in aviation. It has dedicated to help improve the airport service quality and operation management capabilities. It is the maker of the global airport industry rules, regulations and standards. Also, it is the leader of the industry development. At present, this association has 573 members worldwide, which locate in 174 countries and regions. Every year ACI awards members of the airports which have performed very well in the ASQ survey project.
