Not only did the newly weds, George Clooney and Amal Clooney stun at the red carpet of this year's Golden Globes, they've also been put under the spotlight on how accomplished, and very much in love, they are as a couple.

"In a town and in an industry where it is so easy to lose touch of who you are and what really matters, he has never been anything but real," said Clooney's former ER co-star, Marguilles, prompting a montage of the actor's various critically acclaimed films such as Ocean's Eleven, The Descendants and Gravity.

After getting up on stage, the actor took the time to thank both presenters--

"I can't tell you what an honor it is to be up here with Jules and Don. I've spent such a long part of my life and career with them and it's been incredible to watch them grow," he said.  

He follows this up with words of gratitude for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association before he applauded colleagues and fellow thespians in the room.

"You get to do what you've always dreamed to do and be celebrated...I have no idea what hardware Robin Williams took home but I sure remember "carpe diem."

"So congratulations to all of you for having a good year. I've had a pretty good year myself and I'm not just referring to the fabulous reviews of The Monuments Men," he joked, in reference to his recent directorial project.

He ends with a brief tribute to his wife-

"It's a humbling thing to find someone you love. Even better if you've been waiting your whole life...Amal, whatever alchemy it is that brought us together, I couldn't be prouder to be your husband."

Clooney has received four Golden Globes across various categories and has been recognized consistently for his various humanitarian efforts as well as being designated as a UN Messenger of Peace.
