With the dawn of the smartphone era, flip phones were thought to have gone extinct. This isn't the case as these devices are going to make a comeback this year.
CNBC said this forgotten mobile phone design is being sported by famous people, particularly those in Hollywood and the fashion industries. A couple of perfect examples are Anna Wintour, editor of Vogue magazine, and singer/actress Rihanna. There are photos of these women working their flip phones.

To prove that flip phone hasn't totally rolled over, the Pew Research Internet Project conducted a study that revealed 56 percent of the adult Americans are owners of smartphones, compared to the 90 percent who owns a mobile phone in general.
Among millennials, 83 percent are smartphone owners and users. Millennials belongs to the 18 to 29 age bracket. As for the remaining 17 percent, their cell phones are the basic ones.
