Li Na Loses First Round of French Open, Falls Off Rankings

Chinese tennis super star Li Na shakes hands with French player Kristina Mladenovic
World number two women's tennis superstar, Li Na, lost during the first round of this year's French Open against Kristina Mladenovic of France.
Li's match with Mladenovic had a final tally of 7-5, 3-6 and 6-1 that surprised on-lookers and audiences as the 2nd ranked women's player struggled against her opponent.

Her chance to upstage Jeniffer Capriati in winning coveted titles such as Roland Garros and the Australian Open championships all in one year is now temporarily put in the backseat. Li's loss bumps her off the winner ranks who lost in the first round of tournaments. Included in the list is the reigning Australian Open champion Stan Wawrinka.
During her interview with the press, Li expressed her sentiments and said she was not able to stick with her game plan, which led her to losing the match.
"I gave it away," Li said showing much disappoinment for her performance.
The dissapointed Li attributed her loss to the many unforced errors she committed in her match agains Mladenovic. In fact, even Mladenovic was surprised how she could have beaten the world's number two at the Roland Garros.
Li battled it out during the entirety of the match, but Mladenovic took with her better strides. Mladenovic finished the match with confidence that gave her a well-deserved victory.
