Mark Ronson Dedicates New Album To Amy Winehouse

Amy Winehouse may have been dead for four years now, but her memories still linger in the mind of Mark Ronson that the singer dedicated his new album to the late songstress.

Ronson took to Instagram the news that he has just completed his latest record Uptown Special and that he did it with the singer in mind.

Ronson had collaborated with Winehouse, who gained fame as a British soul and R&B singer until her surprising death in 2011 due to alcohol poisoning.

"For some reason, the dedication section was left off my album printing. I'm sure they'll fix it for the future, but for public record... This album is dedicated to the memory of Teenie Hodges and DJ Mehdi," he Instagrammed.

"And to Amy Winehouse - although I wish you were still here, I'm always thinking of you, inspired by you and your music lives on in myself and everyone who ever felt it. Love, Mark," the Instagram post continued.

Ronson also dedicated the album to US musician Teenie Hodges who died last year, and to DJ Mehdi, a French hip-hip and house producer who passed away also in 2011.

Mark and Amy's relationship stretched back way when they were still relatively unknown singers.

The two collaborated on Winehouse's breakthrough-and ironically last album, Back to Black, which earned multiple Grammy Awards, including the Best Vocal Pop Album honors.

Ronson, meanwhile, has achieved considerable success in UK, with his "Uptown Funk", featuring Bruno Mars, reaching No. 1 both in the US and UK charts.
