Can't Decide On a Wearable? Lumoid Lets You Try Them All

wearable-tech

The wearables industry is full of weird and wonderful options, but when deciding which is the best, a 'try-before-you-buy' option is extremely helpful.

The wearables market is heating up, and 2015 looks to be its biggest year yet, with the launch of the Apple Watch and other mobile companies joining in on the new buzz.

But due to the lack of stores stocking all of the best wearables, it becomes hard to compare different wearables against one another and find the perfect one for you, that is where Lumoid comes in. Lumoid allows users to try up to five different wearables for $20, giving one week to make a decision. At the end of the week, users can send back all wearables, or keep the ones they enjoy, and pay the retail price for the wearable.

This should make it an easier decision when it comes to choice, especially if a store does not stock the latest FitBit, Jawbone, Samsung and Withings wearable.

Lumoid has a reputation for 'try-before-you-buy' services, allowing users to test out a camera for a minimal price and send it back, or keep it and pay the full price, if they like it. It is a smart (if a bit expensive) way to test out the best gadgets. Lumoid will stock over 30 wearables, and any not on the list can be acquired, by messaging Lumoid and arranging the wearable.

2015 will see the influx of apps for wearables, according to analysts. Apple Watch will have its own store and UI dedicated to the smartwatch and Google will continue to work on Android Wear.

However, there is still no proof the mobile market wants or needs wearables, considering most companies are still trying to make small phones that fit on the user's wrist. Unless the Apple Watch exceeds all previous expectations, prepare for a bit of a downturn on wearables.
