Duke University Porn Star to Lose Financial Aid

The downside of being a successful porn star while in college seems to be the loss of financial aid, and Duke student Miriam Weeks is facing the loss of government financing for her education due to her income as a porn actress being considered 'too high'.
In an article printed in Time, Weeks claimed to have turned to making porn in order to pay off the $47,000 tuition bill she faced - even after receiving financial aid - while attending the prestigious Duke University.

Weeks will be losing an estimated $13,000 in aid which will cause her tuition bill to rise to $62,000 per year.
The university student fell to infamy when she became famous for performing porn under the name of Belle Knox in order to supposedly put herself through school.
Weeks seems determined to protest her loss of financial aid, and is intent on pushing the blame onto the government.
"Everyone is focused on my decision to perform in porn to pay my tuition. Let's start paying attention to what got me here. Sky-high tuition bills result from a culture, from our President on down, telling every kid to go to college, regardless of their future plans or ability to graduate. And they result from schools being all-too-happy to raise prices to catch all the money flowing from the federal spigot," Her statement read.
Although rising tuition costs in the United States don't justify going into porn, Weeks did make some good points in her article by pointing to high demand for college education as an incentive for universities to continue raising tuition prices.
"Demand for porn actresses, especially extremely young ones like myself, far exceeds supply. How interesting that the same basic principle explains why my tuition bill is so high in the first place," the Duke university sophomore's article further said.
