The band's stunts actually pay homage to the 2005 comedy Wedding Crashers. After all, the video and the as they both share the same director.
"It's December 6th, 2014. We're going to drive across L.A. and hit every wedding we possibly can,' he says. 'It's gonna be awesome,'" the Voice coach opened the video.
"David Dobkin, who is an awesome director and a really dear, dear friend, decided to revisit the concept of obviously the original 'Wedding Crashers,'" Levine said in an interview with Access Hollywood in December.
"The only difference being we actually crashed weddings this time!"
"[We] literally showed up and played songs for these guys. They were surprised," Levine said.
The band members emerge from the vehicle, all looking dashing in their tuxedoes and crashed their way unannounced on wedding receptions through back entrances, surprising not only brides and grooms, but their also equally stunned guests.
Crews already knew about the band's plans that's why stages were set with curtains to keep the band's identity concealed as they play "Sugar," from their fifth studio album V.
