Perez is currently off from the TV show as she's busy preparing for her role in the Broadway show, Fish in the Dark.
She is slated to come back on TV before the month ends.
"Rosie Perez is currently in rehearsal for her Broadway play for the month of January. Her status with the show has not changed," a spokesman for ABC told Huffington Post, although sources told New York Daily News that the actress might not be coming back because she was having a hard time coping up with the demands of the show.
The TV network also shrugged the report by Daily Mail that the TV show might be axed after its the end of this season due to sliding ratings.
Making her Broadway debut in Terrence McNally's Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, Perez also scored considerable success on TV, earning three Emmy Awards as a choreographer on In Living Color. Among her most memorable films include Night on Earth, It Could Happen to You, The Counselor, and Pineapple Express.
