There's a new actor who will play the role of Christian Grey in the film adaptation of the novel Fifty Shades of Grey and female fandom, according to reports, will not be happy about it.
The actor who will play Christian Grey's character is Jamie Dornan. If you haven't heard of him, don't be alarmed because we haven't either -- unless you hail from the UK with all those quilts and 10 months of nonstop rain.

Dornan, 32, is Irish who has had parts in seven, mostly British, films since 2006. He was chosen for and accepted the role of the novel's main male character after actor Charlie Hunnam, the original choice, quit for the second time.
According to sources, Hunnam turned the role of Grey down the first time it was offered to him. He later reconsidered and accepted the role after he met the studio executives.
In September 2013, the films head of production announced that the roles of Grey and Anastasia Steele will be played by Hunnam and actress Dakota Johnson. The choice of actors dismayed fans of the novel, which forced the producers to be on the defensive.
"There is a lot that goes into casting that isn't just about looks," said producer Dana Brunetti. "Talent, availability, their desire to do it, chemistry with other actor, etc. So if your favorite wasn't cast, then it is most likely due to something on that list. Keep that in mind while hating and keep perspective."
American actress Dakota Johnson previously had roles in 21 Jump Street (2012) and The Social Network (2010).
Robert Pattinson was author James' first choice for the role of Christian Grey. It was also reported that Ian Somerhalder and Chace Crawford have shown interest in Grey's role. According to reports, Universal Studios originally wanted Ryan Gosling as Christian.
Among the other actresses considered for the role of Anastasia were Elizabeth Olsen, Alicia Vikander, Imogen Poots, Shailene Woodley and Felicity Jones.
The selection of the unknown Dorman to replace the unenthusiatic Hannam has again revived the negative reaction to the film.
Fan distastes have been evident when you go visit the film's official Facebook page.
"Very much disappointed at the choice of actor to play Christian Grey ... This is so so not him!!! Super bad choice," one fan wrote on social media.
"He just isn't sexy enough to pull this off!" Another fan commented.
The bestselling erotic romance novel was first published in 2011 and penned by British author E. L. James. It is the first part of a trilogy that details the erotic adventures of a college graduate and virgin, Anastasia Steele, and 27-year-old billionaire Christian Grey.
The novel reached notoriety for its depiction of BDSM in its narrative, which is akin to a modern-day version of Marquis De Sade's novels.
The second and third volumes in the trilogy, Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed, were published in 2012.
Members of literary circles criticized Jame's novels for being poorly written, but Fifty Shades of Grey became one of the fastest-selling paperbacks of all time. The series sold over 100 million copies worldwide and was translated into 52 languages.
Fifty Shades of Grey the movie is now in post-production with filming officially ending last February 21. It will be released on Valentine's Day 2015.
