Jaycee Chan, Jackie Chan's son who was sentenced to six months in prison due to a drug-related case, blames his father for lack of parental love, thus, leading him to go with the wrong people and take up bad habits.
It was reported that Jaycee sent her mother Joan three long letters, pouring out his remorse with what happened to his life. He was also believed to have explained that he started using drugs and going with people whenever he felt sad or upset.

Jaycee also opened about the difficulties that he encountered growing up in a famous family, as well as the pressure he felt about matching his father's fame. He was also saddened by the fact that his father, Jackie Chan, did not show him enough concern, although he also admitted that his parents did everything they could to help him following his arrest, feeling both grateful and thankful at the same time.
Jaycee's manager, Steven, however, did not believe that the letters were from Jaycee.
"That's impossible! Jaycee would never make such irresponsible statements," he said.
Steven explained that his lawyer should first inspect every "single letter he writes" before they are sent to someone else.
Steven also addressed rumors about Jaycee's comeback plans after Lunar New Year.
"I don't even know if he wants to return to the entertainment industry full-time," he said, hinting that the actor was not in a hurry to immediately go back to work.
Steven also said that Jackie Chan would not be providing his son any help on his career.
Steven's management company foot the bill entailed by his imprisonment due to marijuana use.
