Two Senior Shanxi Officials in Graft Probe

Two senior officials in the coal-rich Shanxi province are currently being investigated on suspicion of corruption, China anti-graft authority said yesterday.
Ling Zhengce, vice chairman of Shanxi's political advisory body, and Vice Governor Du Shanxue are under investigation for suspected serious discipline and law violations, the Party's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.

Lin Zhengce is a brother of Ling Jihua, the key aide to former president Hu Jintao that was accused of covering up Ferrari crash that killed his son.
Lin, 62, headed the Shanxi provincial reform and development commission from 2004-2008 before taking his current post. The commission is in charge of approving large project that have investment from provincial government.
Du, 58, had been in charge of work related to reform and development, transportation, infrastructure, environmental protection and investment.
Ling Juhua suffered a serious setback in his career after he was involved in a cover-up Ferrari accident that claimed the life of his son. Also two women passengers were seriously injured.
The accident sparked different questions on how a son of an official could afford a car worth $800,000.
Ling was demoted from his as head of General Office of the Party's Central Committee and was transferred to lead the party's United Front Work Department, which is in charge of co-opting non-Communists, religious groups and ethnic minorities, a post he still holds.
China's campaign against corrupt officials has intensified since Xi Jinping took over as Party's general secretary in November 2012.
Other Corruption charges from Shanxi province
In April 27, Jin Dao-Ming, Vice -chairman of Shanxi Provincial People Congress Standing Committee., was investigated for graft allegations
In April, Shen Weichen, the former head of China Association for Science and Technology who was once party chief in Shanxi's capital, Taiyuan was investigated for corruption. He worked in Shanxi for 41 years.
13 provincial-leve officials have been investigated this year on alleged corruption charges. Last year, 17 provincial-level officials were investigated.
