Doc Rivers brings family aboard the National Basketball Association's (NBA) Los Angeles Clippers as the team has just acquired son Austin Rivers.
Austin, son of the Clipper's head coach, was recently acquired in a three-team trade. Apart from the Clippers, the trade involved the Boston Celtics and Phoenix Suns last Thursday.

In exchange for Austin, the Clippers sent forward Reggie Bullock to the Suns. At the same time, the Celtics received Suns forward Shavlik Randolph, Clippers forward Chris Douglas-Roberts, as well as the Clippers' 2017 second round draft pick in the deal.
Looking ahead, experts and analysts suppose that Clippers reserve guard Jordan Farmar will probably be waived or traded on Friday.
At the completion of the trade, Austin becomes the first NBA player to play for his father on his first professional on-court appearance.
Austin is not the only player who has played for his father though. Coby Karl joins that list.
While he was a member of the Nuggets in 2010 for a short while under his father, George Karl, he did not get to play in a game during that time.
Austin was previously playing with the Pelicans this season. At only 22-years old, he averages 6.8 points, 2.5 assists, and 1.9 rebounds in 22 minutes a game. Earlier this week, the New Orleans Pelicans traded him to the Celtics.
The Clippers did not just hone in on Austin to complete their head coaches' family and wishes. Instead, they acquired Austin in the hopes of improving the Clippers' bench play.
This season, their bench has underwhelmed in both pace and productivity eve since point guard Darren Collison went to the Sacramento Kings last summer.
Rivers was the 10th overall pick in 2012. After spending one year in Duke, he was drafted by the Pelicans.
Doc Rivers said he believes he is ready for the challenge of coaching his son. He also says that his son is a downhill guard, which is something the team needs.
