Google Streamlines Concert Ticket Searches

Google has streamlined concert ticket searches, working with ticket sellers like Ticketmaster to feature tours and concerts at the top of the search results.

Ticket sellers will now be able to implement markup or HTML code, in order for their own results to be shown at the top, alongside other resellers. Getting featured on the Google first search result could heavily boost traffic, considering the extensive integration.

It is not the first time Google has opted to sort music search results out themselves, recently announcing it would publish thousands of song lyrics on Google's search, allowing users an easy directory to finding correct song lyrics.

But not everyone is happy with the new Google integration, especially companies that use a different style of markup for ticket sales. At least for ticket sales, Google is actively looking for partnerships, while on song lyrics it has been silent.

Google has been noticeably more active when it comes to 'improving' search results, by adding its own result at the top. Ever since the launch of Knowledge Base in 2013, Google has been continuing its integration into all types of search results.

Hopefully, this will mean a faster and simpler experience when it comes to buying tickets - even though Google is currently not offering a way to compare ticket prices from various sellers - allowing users to view dozens of sellers.

Users can test this out now, searching '[artist] tour' should pull up a whole list of dates, places and ticket sellers. For now, Google will have a limited pool, until it can fully integrate all tours and ticket sellers.
