Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed are now ready to tie the knot.

The Vampire Diaries actor and the Twilight star are now engaged, sources to E! News can confirm, six months after they started dating each other.

Their engagement, though, does not come as a surprise. Sources can tell that the two are madly, deeply in love with each other.

Somerhalder revealed with Reed that he had "been in love with [her] for years," and that his love for him even predates their six-month relationship.

Rumors started circulating that the two are in a relationship after they were seen together sweet and seemingly happy with each other at an L.A. farmers market last July.

They then started adopting animals, perhaps, in preparation for parenthood sometime in the future?

In August,  they adopted a horse and named it Eagle, then in October, they added another "baby" on their brood by adopting a kitten.

The couple aren't just love-tied, they're also business partners, setting up their own production company together, in the hopes of spreading their "creative wings as well."

"Nikki and I are starting a production company and we're going to be able to tell even more stories that we really want to tell, everything from documentaries to TV shows to movies...all kinds of stuff," Somerhalder said in an interview with E! News early this week.  

Somerhalder seemed very excited to work with her lovey dovey.

"It's going to be awesome," the hunk actor said.

"Listen, it's about telling stories and it's about creating the content to tell those stories and whose going to distribute that content," he continued.

Reed, who screen credits also included Thirteen Lords of Dogtown and Mini's First Time, previously tied the knot with American Idol alum Paul McDonald, splitting in March 2014 two years after they married.

Somerhalder, who also appeared on the TV series Lost, once dated with his TV co-star Nina Dobrev before they broke up in 2013.
