(Photo : Reuters) Prince William and Kate Middleton made their way to the 9/11 Memorial despite harsh weather from Winter Storm Damon.

Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton stopped by The Fostering Network in Islington, London to promote the foster care charity. Known for reusing her clothes, the down-to-earth Duchess opted to wear her dark brown Hobbs shirtdress for the second time.

Prince William's wife drank tea and some biscuits with the kids, social workers and care leavers while being given a rundown of the organization's extensive work. Before the actual tea party began, Middleton mingled with the fostered young adults, caretakers, as well as the senior staff from the Fostering Network. She expressed that she was honored to be there and said, "I've heard a huge amount about fostering. It's really great for me to have an opportunity to speak to you."

The Fostering Network aims to create a future for the 63,000 children living with 52,500 foster families all around the UK. A lot of these children, although fostered, are endangered and are oftentimes subject to physical abuse, emotional abuse, neglect and exposed to substance abuse and domestic violence. At this time, the organization is in need for at least 8,600 more foster families to provide homes particularly for teenagers, biological siblings and disabled children.

The Duchess, on this visit, was seen bonding with Naya, a baby girl who is 6 months old. The little girl is being taken care of her mom, Tigest Tesfamichael. Middleton smiled at the girl and told her foster mother that "She's chubbier than George." The Duchess also got a little excited about Naya's hair, which was tied up with rainbow-colored bands, saying, "Sweetie pie, I love your hair!"

Before Middleton left, she got a gift, which the organization calls, a "memory box", as well as flowers from the kids. The box urges the kids to keep pictures and other mementos that help them remember positive memories.

The director of development at the Fostering Network, Lucy Peake says that "A visit from The Duchess helps to shine a spotlight on fostering and the need for more foster carers. We are very grateful to her for her interest, and know that the foster carers and care leavers attending our event today are excited to be sharing their experiences and stories with her."
