According to Netease Technology on June 15th, Luo Yonghao and his team released the first version of Smartisan OS yesterday. Smartisan OS is an Android-based cellphone platform made by Smartisan Co., Ltd., a Chinese firm. It is a custom ROM for smartphones and potentially tablet devices. However, it is only available for the international version of the Samsung Galaxy SIII so far. One needs to download the software on a Windows non-RT computer, and follow the directions, which are written in Chinese in order to flash the custom ROM on the Galaxy SIII.

Official Forum Shows, the number of engineers in Smartisan Co., Ltd. has doubled since the launch event on March 27th. However the number of engineers is still not enough for the developing process. In order to stick to Luo Yonghao's word, the company released the pre-alpha Smartisan OS of its custom Android ROM on June 15th.
At the launch event on March 27th, there were only seven employees in Luo Yonghao's company. Luo said that Xiaomi Company misled him. He thought seven engineers were enough to finish the development of Android ROM.
It is reported that the software is currently still in pre-alpha status, so it's neither stable nor speedy, definitely not recommended for daily use just yet. The release includes most of the features demonstrated at the three-hour-long launch event on March 27th.
Users need an international Samsung Galaxy S3 plus Windows to flash this early version of Smartisan OS. The instructions of Smartisan OS are written in Chinese. Luo said the release of Smartisan OS for the HTC One X, Samsung Galaxy S2, Xiaomi Phone 2 and Samsung Galaxy Note2 were coming. But he didn't mention the exact time when the official version would be released. In addition, the Smartisan Company won't take responsible for any errors happened when users flash the machine.
