Korean Actress Lee Min Jung has announced that she and husband Lee Byung Hun are expecting their first child. The pregnancy news surfaced just days after the women blackmailing Lee Byung Hun were sentenced to jail.
According to a formal statement released by Lee Min Jung's agency, she is already "27 weeks into her pregnancy." The agency continued, explaining why they waited to break the news, "It's a blessing to welcome a baby into a family, but we were hesitant to announce this, due to the recent unfortunate circumstances. We also had to consider her condition before revealing the news about her pregnancy. Please understand why we had to be careful about revealing her pregnancy to the public."

Sometime in August 2014, actor Lee Byung Hun went to officials to report the blackmailing that Glam's Da Hee and model Lee Ji Yeon were doing. He reported that both women threatened to release a video clip of him making sexually suggestive comments if he does not give them the $5 million they are asking for. Fortunately, the women were arrested and both sentenced to jail.
Due to the blackmailing incident, media reporters flocked at Lee Byung Hun and Lee Min Jung's house. During this time, pregnant Lee Min Jung went to her parents' house so she can fully rest and avoid the paparazzi. When her husband went to the United States for work, Lee Min Jung accompanied him. So many fans, as well as reporters are speculating as to how the scandal will affect their marriage, but being the good wife that she is, she remained by her husband's side.
During the announcement of her pregnancy, she also reached out to fans and said, "I first want to thank everyone who were concerned about the recent issues. Despite my worries, I am going to stay determined and strong for the family. I will try my best to not disappoint those who have waited and cared for me all this time."
The couple's child is due in April.
