South Korean actor and SS501 main rapper Kim Hyun Joong is being asked to pay 5 million KRW or approximately $4600 for physically harming his girlfriend.
According to prosecutors, Kim had 'no intentions of intentionally hitting her', and that he was 'showing her his fighting skills when she was accidentally hurt' but the injuries on her body clearly indicate assault.

"However, there was a settlement and a letter of apology submitted, and upon consideration of those things, Kim Hyun Joons has been summarily indicted," the prosecution continued.
This is not the first time that the popular actor and boy band member has been involved in an assault case.
In May last year, he beat his girlfriend, which sent her to hospital for two weeks because of the injuries, and then again in July when he was supposedly "showing" her his fighting skills.
However, the couple reportedly had a verbal dispute, which left her with broken ribs that required a six-week recovery. After their fight, the girlfriend went straight to officials and took the necessary legal action against the actor.
Between the months of May and July, a total of four assault cases were filed against Kim Hyun Joong by his girlfriend. She, however, retracted two of her formal complaints. The remaining open cases were then taken to the prosecution, which resulted in the actor being required to pay the fine.
