Kuo has a reputation of correctly predicting Apple's future product designs. The analyst's closeness with Apple's major Chinese suppliers certainly gives him the edge. This time, however, Kuo is simply relying on his personal research and Apple's various patent applications.

Steve Jobs once said that adding a stylus is a bad idea. Apple, however, seems comfortable with the idea of adding a stylus for the much rumored 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

Kuo believes the stylus will probably be an accessory option and won't be part of the basic iPad Pro package to keep the costs down.  The stylus will be a simple one with sensors that will make 3D handwriting possible. The pen will be charged via a Lightning connector.

The stylus will probably enhance the iPad user experience rather than be a major source of income for Apple.  Kuo claims the stylus is rather easier to use than the combination of keyboard and mouse in certain cases. He adds the stylus is more accurate than a person's finger.

Although the stylus is unlikely to significantly boost sales of the iPad Pro, it may enable the creation of new appls that will take advantage of it.  The market segment that will find a stylus enabled iPad will probably be the corporate and education sector.

Meanwhile, there has been no confirmation from Apple with regards to the chip that will be used in the iPad Pro.

Rumors are circulating that the upcoming iPad will feature a new "A8X" processor chip.  There is a possibility the new iPad will have two additional speakers and a microphone that can give the iPad Pro stereo audio support.
