An upcoming comedy film starring Seth Rogen and James Franco featuring the assassination of Kim Jong-un has been condemned by the North Korean regime as "the desperation of the U.S. government and American society," the Telegraph reported.
"The Interview", due to be released in October, follows the tale of a late night show host, Franco, and his producer, Rogen, who landed an interview with Kim Jong-un after discovering that the supreme leader is a fan of their program. The two were subsequently enlisted by the U.S. government's secret service as undercover agents to assassinate North Korea's supreme leader.

The recently released trailer showed an intelligence agent giving the pair a briefing on the myths surrounding Kim Jong-un, which include the dictator convincing North Koreans that he can speak to dolphins.
But the Pyongyang regime is not amused.
Executive director for The Center for North Korea-US Peace and an unofficial spokesman for the Pyongyang regime, Kim Myong-choi, said that the storyline is ironic. "A film about the assassination of a foreign leader mirrors what the US has done in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Ukraine," according to Myong-choi.
The dictator would probably watch the movie, he added, despite the trailer being dismissed by the North Korean state media as "dirty and cursed."
The trailer has some critics commenting on the irresponsibility of creating a movie based on the assassination of another country's leader. It mocks North Korea and will stir unnecessary tension, said one commentator on the Yahoo Movies website.
