“This monumental agreement will redefine the sport of mixed martial arts forever,” Cuid said in the press release. “ONE Fighting Championship will become the first world class mixed martial arts organization ever to hold an event in mainland China.”
Cui said that the landscape of MMA will be changed forever as China welcomes ONE FC in its doorstep.
He acknowledged China’s rich martial arts tradition being the birthplace of different fighting arts, which include Sanshou, Kung Fu and Wushu. Cui said that ONE FC will be available to more than one billion viewers living in China alone and promised to bring exciting fights in the country’s 10 different cities.
Adrian Leong, CEO of AMC Live Group, said that his company is the perfect partner for ONE FC considering AMC’s capacity to hold entertainment events across Asia
“We have a world-class stable of entertainment acts and are happy to add the most exciting sporting event in Asia, ONE Fighting Championship,” Leong said. “We are very excited at the potential of mixed martial arts in China and believe that it will be a huge success given the track record of ONE FC.”
The promotion is still preparing for its ONE FC: War of Dragons event, the first fight card to be held in Taiwan on July 11. The chosen venue for the event is the NTU Sports Center located in Taipei, Taiwan’s capital.
The details for this year’s other events are still being planned.
Also, ONE FC was able to strike a 10-event deal with Phnom Penh Hotel and NagaWorld, a well-known entertainment complex in Cambodia. The Southeast Asian country will host its first-ever ONE FC MMA event on September 12. Aspects of the scheduled Phnom Penh matches are expected to be announced on Tuesday, 11 a.m. at a press conference at NagaWorld.
