Aniston, who recently earned the raves of critics for her stirring performance in the motion picture "Cake", revealed that her dyslexia prevents her from reading that much. She also said it used to hurt her self-esteem when she was younger and it was only in her 20's that she learned about her learning disability.
She said she found out about her dyslexia when she got her eyes checked for prescription glasses.
"The only reason I knew [that I had it] was because I went to get a prescription for glasses," she said.
Before being diagnosed, though, she "thought I wasn't smart. I just couldn't retain anything."
Aniston also talked about her relationship with her mom, Nancy Dow, saying that they haven't been on speaking terms for years, citing her mother's temper, critical attitude and unforgiving nature that she can't tolerate.
Now, she said, "We're all fine."
Aniston, who has just been recently engaged with acclaimed writer/director/actor Justin Theroux, also revealed that she had long moved on from the pain of her split and divorce from Brad Pitt.
"I'm a control freak. I like to be in charge of everything. My life was so out of control growing up, it's very important today for me to be in control," she added.
Of failing to grab a nomination, Aniston, who nevertheless received Golden Globe and Screen Actor's Guild nominations, felt I've gotten such wonderful love," saying she had been receiving more phone calls and flowers these days."
