Jennifer Lawrence has already worked with some of Hollywood's big directors and actors and soon, she will be able to add Oscar-winning director, James Cameron to her list. New reports say that the Hunger Games actress is working with Cameron on his new project called The Dive.

As reported by The Wrap, The Dive is a romantic drama, which is based on the story of Cuban diver, Francisco "Pipin" Ferraras and his wife, French-born diver Audrey Mestre, who both became popular for breaking the records for deep-water diving on a single breath. Lawrence is said to be looking forward to play the role of Mestre. Mestre tragically died at 28 years old when she attempted to beat her own world record.

Cameron, himself will produce the film via his film production company, Lightstorm Entertainment while Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence, will direct.

Cameron is known to be a diving enthusiast, so his involvement in this film does not come as a surprise. He has produced multiple deep-sea exploration documentaries and has actually filmed Ferraras' tribute to his wife. The world-renowned filmmaker has been trying to bring Ferras and Mestre's story to the big screen since 2002.

As for Lawrence, sources say that she has received an offer to play the part, but it is unclear whether she is still negotiating or has already closed the deal. If she does take on the role, The Dive will serve as a chance for her to step outside her usual projects, which have either been franchise movies or movies directed by David O. Russel. While starring in all of her films brought her huge success, working with Cameron and Francis Lawrence will be an excellent way for her to move forward after the end of The Hunger Games and X-Men: First Class Trilogy.

Lawrence still has upcoming movies. Hunger Games: Mocking Jay Part 2 is set to be released in November this year, while X-Men: Apocalypse can be seen on May 2016. She will also be working again with O'Russel, as well as former costars Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper on Joy.
