A scrapped Lady Gaga video for the star's song Do What You Want leaked recently, causing a bit of an online firestorm aimed directly at the entertainer and what many believe to be a work which perpetuates rape culture in the U.S.
The track Do What You Want became an almost instant hit in 2013, leaving fans calling for a music video to back up the ARTPOP single.

When Lady Gaga finally did get around to starting work on a video for the song, the final product was scrapped. Why? Well, the diva claims that her creativity was not honored in the process, hence the video was never released.
A more likely rumor has been circulating the web, and it points to the disturbing images present in the unreleased video. R. Kelly makes an appearance, but what really seems to be causing the outrage is the fact that the majority of the work revolves around an unconscious woman being placed unwittingly in scenarios ripe with sexuality and implied rape.
If the title Do What You Want doesn't say enough, then the images present in the video must; as an anonymous source from the New York Post so concisely stated that Lady Gaga's 'creative' piece is "literally [like] an ad for rape".
Add to that the fact that the video was filmed by Terry Richardson, a man who, along with R. Kelly, has seen more than his fair share of sexual-harassment allegations, and the entire work takes on an overall creepy hue. The participation of both men in the video has also been one of the reasons for the massive amounts of outrage currently circling the web.
Lady Gaga seems to have plenty of sense though and thankfully scrapped the video before it was ever officially released. However, thanks to TMZ, fans, or activists, can get a glimpse of what could have been, causing people to further question the role major stars have in contributing to a persistent rape-laced culture.
