AT&T Data Rollover Plan to be Available Jan. 25

(Photo : Reuters) AT&T is planning to launch an Internet-based TV service under its DirecTV brand.

AT&T's announced its rollover data plan following launch of a similar plan by T-Mobile US, Inc.

Some customers of AT&T can take advantage of this rollover data plan starting Jan. 25. Around 50 million subscribers to the Mobile Share Value Plan can have unused data from their previous month rolled over to the following month.

There's a considerable difference between this change and the one T-Mobile rolled out. AT&T subscribers can only enjoy the rollover for the following month, whereas T-Mobile customers can keep on moving their unused data for the next 12 months.

Another difference between these two plans is that Mobile Share Value subscribers come Jan. 25 will be automatically included in the rollover mobile data plan, according to Droid Life. They don't need to sign up for the program or have to pay an additional amount.

All unused data starting that day will be transferred to the next billing cycle. Again, this will just be for the next month.

So how does this work? Here's an example that was cited by Droid-Life.

If you're enrolled in a plan that gives you 25 GB of mobile data for the billing cycle Jan. 25 to Feb. 24, and were only able to use portion of it, say 20 GB, the remaining 5 GB will be transferred to your next billing cycle, which may run from Feb. 25 to March 24.

This means that for the February to March bill, you have 30 GB of mobile data you can use. If you aren't able to use the 5 GB left from the previous cycle until March 24, it will no longer be added to the March to April cycle.
