Popular Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi, Inc. is going to focus on its online sales strategies in India.
Xiaomi says it can sell a wider array of smartphone models in stores throughout India while it keeps implementing the same online-only sales strategy, according to Reuters. This will only take place, however, if the phone manufacturer can increase the sales of its Redmi Note 4G model sold through Bharti Airtel Ltd.

Xiaomi penetrated the Indian market in July 2014 through a partnership with Flipkart.com, an online retailer. The primary strategy used by both firms was flash selling where phones are only available for a short period of time.
The benefit of flash sales is that consumers can buy impressive smartphones at lower prices. For Xiaomi, the benefit was much lower marketing and distributing expenses.
To further increase its Xiaomi sales, Bharti Airtel has announced the phone maker's Redmi Note 4G model will be sold in six different cities in the country. It will be made available to consumers through the largest 4G network provider. The phones can be purchased by Indian consumers at any of the network provider's 133 stores.
To attract even more customers, it was decided that the phones will come with a price almost similar to those sold online.
