Organizers of the 24th Seoul Music Awards have apologized to Girls' Generation's Kim Taeyeon over a whole in the stage that caused her to fall during a performance.
Kim was performing at the January 22 awards ceremony with TaeTiSeo members Tiffany abd Seohyun when she fell into a hole that was one meter deep. As a result of the accident, she pulled some muscles around her waist and needed to be injected with painkillers at a hospital.

SM Entertainment, Kim's talent outfit, assured the public that she was doing fine, but many of her fans are still questioning the safety conditions of the stage used during the awards ceremony.
"We sincerely apologize for Taeyon's accident," representatives of the awards ceremony said, explaining that the accident happened while Kim was performing their song 'Holler' after winning an award.
The lift on the floor used by the other artists for effects suddenly moved just when she stepped on it, the organizers added. Kim then slipped and fell into the hole. She was pulled back up on stage by their backup dancers.
"The event was getting delayed, so in the process of hurrying things along, a mistake was made," the organizers said.
Finally, the organization committee of the awards ceremony also spoke in their defense, saying "The organization committee of the 'Seoul Music Awards' worked extensively for safety and safety education, including multiple rehearsals."
The committee stressed that Kim's fall was an unexpected accident. They said they have been in contact with SM Entertainment and Kim, not only for the issuance of the apology but also to allay the fears and worries of her fans.
