Trouble seems to keep coming to Josh Gordon, wide receiver of the National Football League's (NFL) Cleveland Browns. This latest one may sever the ties with the Browns. Perhaps even with the league.
Most recently, Gordon was banned for at least one year after he violated the NFL's substance abuse policy.

A person who is close to the situation said Gordon tested positive for alcohol. He then underwent tests for it when he pleaded guilty to a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) charge in September.
The Browns released a statement on the matter, saying that they were clearly very disappointed to hear of Gordon's latest predicament.
They also said that since it is a matter wrapped with a shroud of confidentiality that the NFL's substance abuse policy brings, they have not been made aware at this point of a failed test.
The team is currently in the process of gathering more information that will assist in providing further comments at the appropriate time.
This isn't the first time that Gordon has been under fire.
In 2013, he served two drug-related suspensions. One included a two-game ban when he tested positive for codeine, while the other was an 8-game suspension when he tested positive for marijuana.
If the NFL had not agreed on a new drug policy in September, Gordon would have been banned for the whole of 2014 as well.
However, it doesn't make a difference anymore now
It is not as if all of these occurrences are coming out of the blue.
The Browns used a supplemental draft pick on him in 2012 despite the fact that he had already failed multiple drug tests while at Baylor University and the University of Utah.
The decision to get Gordon was a decision by a previous staff of the Browns. One the believed in his skill and his star potential.
However, the current coaching staff knows nothing about Gordon except the numerous troubles he has been in.
It may be finally time to sever ties with the wide receiever.
