Mark Ronson Achieves UK Music Charts Double

English DJ and producer Mark Ronson managed to set a record for himself becoming the first act of 2015 to land the No. 1 spot both in the British singles and album charts, the Official Charts Company revealed.

Ronson's track "Uptown Funk", which also featured Bruno Mars, remains at No. 1 for the sixth week. His fourth studio album Uptown Special, meanwhile, made a stunning debut at No. 1.

"Uptown Funk" has already sold more than 120,000 copies, while enjoying 2,562,000 streams last week.

Ronson is the first person to hit back-to-back success after Miley Cyrus achieved the same feat in October 2013.

Following Ronson on the second spot is Meghan Trainor, who made the highest climb in the singles chart, starting out at No. 5 but leaping to number two with her single, "Lips Are Movin'."Hozier's "Take Me To Church" remained unmoved on the third spot.

Meanwhile, in the album charts, Fall Out Boy's American Beauty/American Psycho landed in No. 2, which got narrowly outsold by Ronson's by less than 1,900 copies.

Ed Sheeran's X, and Sam Smith's In The Lonely Hour were both pushed to the third and fourth spot, respectively.

Ronson announced that his latest album has been inspired by her deceased pal, singer Amy Winehouse.

"...to Amy Winehouse - although I wish you were still here, I'm always thinking of you, inspired by you and your music lives on in myself and everyone who ever felt it. Love, Mark," he posted on Instagram.

The two has known each other long before they were celebrities. They collaborated together in making Winehouse's breakthrough and last album, Back to Black.
